The LPVEC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Alvin W. Morton as Executive Director.  Mr. Morton will assume his duties as of July 1.

Mr. Morton’s appointment comes after a nationwide search process that attracted over twenty applicants for the position.  An Executive Director Screening Committee composed of parents, board officials, community members, and school personnel from the LPVEC community, reviewed all applications and invited several candidates for preliminary interviews.  Subsequent to the preliminary interviews, the screening committee recommended several candidates for further consideration by the Board of Directors.

On June 6, 2023, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to enter into contract negotiations with Mr. Morton.

Mr. Morton is currently the Interim Superintendent of Chicopee Schools. Alvin’s professionalism, experience, and leadership skills have been perfectly matched to our targeted candidate profile. We are more than excited to welcome him as our new Executive Director.
